Johnson Century fishing reels
Question
I have purchased two Johnson Century reels recently. One is a Model 100B. The other, I am not sure of. Anyway, I took them apart for a good cleaning and now, when I push the button to cast, it feels like the spool is going up so high, it is hitting the cover. Is this normal? I bought them, because they are great reels, especially for trout fishing small streams. I took them apart because they were seizing up after a while on the stream and needed greased. Now, I am having trouble with them. Any suggestions? Thanks!
Answer
Hello
I am guessing the rod that moves the spool forward and aft may be mis-assembled. I don't have one to compare.
However, if you search on "ORCA Reels" you will find a button that says Reel Talk, you can post a question there. That site is dedicated to reel collectors so there will be better resources.
Let me know if you have trouble finding the site.
