brim in aquarium
Question
I caught a brim here in a pond in SC. I wanted to keep him in my aquarium. What is the best temperature and food to give to it?Just wanted to see of I could make it work.
Answer
Dillon; I should reject this question because it is not a question about fishing, however, I do not like to reject questions so I will give you what little I know about keeping wild fish in an aquarium.
I caught a three inch bass a few years ago. He got into my livewell through the drain hole I guess. Anyway I decided to keep him just to see if I could keep him alive. I put him in an ordinary fish bowl without even an aerator. I fed him a worm about every four days and changed the water about the same frequency. He lived all summer just at room temperature (airconditioned 70 degrees). In the fall I left for a week fishing trip and when I came back my step grandson had turned him back into the lake rather than take care of him.
There is probably a place on About concerning aquariums and how to keep fish. That would likely be a better place to get more expert information.
My stepson has two bass and three brim in his aquarium. The bass are about 6 inches long and one of the brim is bigger than the bass.
He has about a ten gallon aquarium with aerator and he feeds them fish food he buys somewhere plus a worm or two now and then.
I hope this has been of some help. Thank you for calling on me to answer your question.
