heddon bamboo fly fishing rod
Question
I have a Genuine Heddon split-bamboo rod. Label says handmade....,
tapered..., tempered..... Number 14, Fer. 2 1/2, Lgt. 9, Weight (without
locking reel seat) 5oz. final inspector's O.K. 3. It is in a steel tube with a label
that says Heddon the rod with the fighting heart, James Heddon's Sons
Dowagiac, Michigan This was handed down to me and I was wondering if it is
worth anything. Thanks for any help you can give me. Gary
Answer
Gary,
I am assuming 'Lgt. 9' means the total rod length is 9 feet.
The butt ferrule size is designated by "2F" or "2 ?F". The larger the number, the stiffer the rod. For three piece rods, a 2F is usually a trout rod and 2 ?F is a bass rod.
