how much money to ask for an old reel

I have an old Edwards MFG.co. model #30 fly reel in really great condition. I'm thinking of selling it. But I don't know how much money to ask for it.

Hi Jason,

According to my reference book (D.B. Homel, Antique Fly Reels) the model #30 Edwards fly reel is valued in Good condition at $10 and in Excellent condition at $18.  These figures are about 10 years old so I would add a bit for inflation.

If your reel sounds like it would fit more in the Excellent category for this book.  I would value it in the $25-$30 range.  Considering the price of new reels, if you fish it may be better to keep it and use it.
