Question
Heddon Pal Handle
My father found this Heddon Pal handle at an estate sale. Does not include reel or rod, just handle. The picture is attached. The base of the handle has the cork wrapping, with a red plastic finishing end with one screw holding it in place. The opposite end (where the rod attaches) is made of a heavier wood, approximately 1/2" rod entry with securing screw, and has a diamond-crossed graphic etched into it 3 times around the wood. The middle-section is made of a heavy metal, perhaps nickel-silver, as the scratches on the black coating indicate a silvery base. The patents on the metal section are: 1961969, 1961970, & 1962869. Weighs approximately 10-16 oz (guesstimate by hand). Condition wise I would say it's Fair-Good. No chips/chunks taken out or anything, just scratches w/ age & use. Thank you for any help you can provide! Basically looking to check age & potential value.
AnswerJason,
Might be worth something to a casting rod repair shop, but finding that person is a whole lot of research. I am pretty sure the pal was made from the 50s to 70s as it appears to be a fiberglass handle.

Even if you had the whole rod , a casting fiberglass rod would not sell for $20.
