rod re gripping
Question
I have some medium action offshore rods that have EVA foam grips on them that are worn out so I was wondering if you can tell me how to go about replacing them. I was also wondering if i need to take the guides off to do this?
Answer
Hi Thomas,
Yes, it's a pain but you really have to strip everything off and start over to do this right. Those EVA grips are so tight that you cant really sneak them over too much. Even the reel seat will probably have to get cut off.
The only easy solution is that repripping tape that is available for rods. It's like regripping a tennis racket handle. Not the greatest solution, but an easy one.
