antique bamboo fishing pole
Question
I have a two piece bamboo boat pole at the approximate age of 60 to 70 yrs old. It has german nickel guide tip. Could you approximate its worth to me and if I were to sell it who would be an legitmate dealer to deal with. thank you Dominick
Answer
Dominick, I should probably not answer this question as it is not in my area of knowledge. However, I do not like to use that excuse so I will do what I can with your question.
There is one place that I know of that you may find the answer to your question. Before you try it please look carefully to see if the pole has any identification on it, a name, a number, patent or whatever. The length of the pole would help. When you have found out everything you can about it and if possible where it has been and where it came from to you then go to a recent Bassmaster magazine and look for the "What is it Worth" page. You can then write to the editor of that page and see if he can help you. He is an expert on antique fishing gear. If this does not work try a search on the web for Antique Fishing Tackle and see what you can find there.
Thanks for calling on me to answer your question. I am sorry I could not give you a definite answer maybe this will be of some help.
