Answer
Hi Richard,
American Fork & Hoe was one of several manufacturing companies to make solid steel and extruded steel rods in the 1910s to 1940s time frame. The Speedlaock patent dates from 1937 and the rod shaft could be earlier or contemporary with the reel seat and handle. These old steel rods are good fishing rods but don't enjoy the collector following that many other rods do. Value would be in the $15-$30 range but, realistically, it might sell for more like $10-$20 these days.
Thanks, Joe
