AnswerJim,
It's very unclear weather you have a casting or fly rod.
Fly rods have the reel seat below the handle .

The only #6 in my memory or the books is a casting rod .
For example:
Antique & Collectable Fishing Rods: Identification & Value Guide Homel, Dan. 1997 (2nd edition 2000# add about 30% for age of book
Homel gives the Heddon #6 baitcasting rod 4 1/2 ft: #handleltip) c.1932, a value of $25, 65 and $115 for poor, good, excellent condition respectively.
If I am off base , lets try again.
Luck,
Mac
