Action-Rod Orchard Indusries Ic., Detroit 12, Mi

I have this rod I picked it up at a local Pawn Shop for 20 dollars, it has a square metal rod with metal eyes, possibly stainless steel, the handle is made of a hard plastic in maroon and Ivory, on the end of the handle is a metal plate with the name James W. Gibson, I know what I have read about some of the values of the rods and where these custom made? Thank you in advance for your time and knowledge.

Hi Tom,

In general, those rods are fairly common and seem to go for $30 to $50 on eBay.  I have also seen them go for $200 at times.  The James W. Gibson marking could be a custom rod.  That could add some value to it.

The guy to ask about this is Joe Douglas on this site.  He will know a lot more about these Action Rods than I know.
