i would like to repaint a fiberglass flyrod after removing guides what is the best way

Hi Casey,

You can lightly sand the blank if needed.  Don't sand into the fiberglass, just the painted surface.  It's pretty easy to paint a blank.

You need to use a paint with a flex agent in it that is formulated for use on plastic. Fortunately, Krylon (and others) make this in spray cans for plastic outdoor patio furniture in a variety of colors and it is easy to use.  If they don't have a color that suits you, check other brands.  If you can't find a suitable color, check with a local auto body shop and ask if they can paint the blank for you.

Spray light coats evenly along the blank.  Don't overdo it.
