Question
true temper rod
I purchased 2 old rods & reels at a garage sale. I'd like some info on them. The rods are both 55" long, are steel and have cork handles. The section that holds the reel appears to be made of swirly gray-green lucite. The are marked TRUE TEMPER PRODUCT GENEVA, OHIO PATENT NO. 2252054
The reels are for bait casting. One is stamped: Mohawk UTICA REEL CO. MADE IN USA. The other is marked:Ocean City 1600 and has an anti-backlash control. Any history or info would be much appreciated. Thanks!
AnswerRobert,
True Temper, Ocean City, and Mohawk made low end affordable fishing tackle. Your rod and reel are from the 30-40$. But, they are very common items. I would estimate both the rod and reel at $5-10 each.
Additionally, with the economy down, there is more sellers than buyers.
