Riverside Stell Rod Abbey & Embrie

Do you have any information on the above listed Fly rod.  The rod is approximately 3 feet long and telescopes to 8'6"  to 9' I haven't tried to fully extend the rod. the reel set sets in front of the cork handle and butt plate

Hello Devoy and thanks for the question.

I have some information about Abbey and Imbrie fishing tackle but mainly that they were an American retail company that had rods and reels manufactured to sell in their stores from the late 1800's until the company was purchased by Horrock's-Ibbotson in the early 1930's.

I would greatly encourage you to contact another AllExperts volunteer- Rich Mac McGaughey and pose your inquiry to him. He may well have a substantial amount of information for you that I cannot provide.

I do know, that while value is what the market will bring, a relic nearing a possible 150 years old would certainly be an item I would add to my collection if for nothing more than its preservation.
