Lee Wullf ultimate reel by farlow
Question
I have a salmon or salt water fly reel given to me, it was from Norm Thompson outfitters in about 1968. Its never been used and came in a special case lined with sheep skin. I think the retail was about $200.00. construction was turned aluminum bar stock, black in color.I don't think they made many of them.
What can you tell me about it and how can I find out what its worth today.

There is a lot of speculation about these limited production reels (few hundred made?). Apparently they were designed by Stan Bogdan, but not clear if Farlow made the reels or another manufacturer.
I dont know what value to place on the reel. However, reels that were expensive in their day tend to be the more valuable collectors reels today so I think you have a good reel.
I would recommend you post questions here

You will have to register first, but its the best sight to get more information and thoughts on value.
Note: with the current economy, tackle prices are down from a few years ago.
