ted williams rod

A friends grandfather left him a Ted Willliams #535 7wt rod. Seems to have an incredibly soft tip and strong butt section.  Any info about this rod...year, materials, etc?

Hi Michael,

I assume this is a fiberglass rod sold by Sears & Roebuck.  You didn't specify length of the rod, but as a 7wt I also assume it is a fly rod.  Ted Williams endorsed outdoor gear dominated the Sears sporting goods section of the stores in the 1960s and 1970s.  Value is in the $15-$30 range depending on condition of the rod.
