2 fly rods and a reel

Question
I have 2 fly rods that I am looking at that were given to me by my dad. One of them is a Sewell Dunton & sons split bamboo rod that says Anglers Choice #974 and has my name Frank Monkiewicz written on it in long hand. I never used it although it has been sitting in a closet for 50 years as my dad gave it to me then. What is the value? I would say it is in a solid good condition. Not mint but very good.
The other rod is a two piece and it is brown in color but appears to be graphite. Actually it says written on it that it is 'forged tubular glass'. Also written on the rod is 'famous South Bend quality'. At the base handle area it says 'Custom Fly Rod 35490'.
The reel says- Automatic Mohawk Martin fishing reel. Made in USA It has a patent number too. It is in fair to maybe good condition if I took it apart to make it work. Do you know the value of this rod and reel?
Do you buy these rods and reels and if not do you know someone who does?
Do you want photos?

Answer
Frank,
I do not buy rods and reels but sell them on commission. I put them on ebay and my web site. But now is not a good time to sell you lower price rods and reel. If you are interested we should try Christmas  or next year's fishing season, like July.

Your rods are collectable enough to get the attention of anyone I know.

Price Book: Antique %26 Collectible  Fishing Rods: Identification %26 Value Guide Homel, Dan. 1997 (2nd edition 2000) add about 30% for age of book.
Homel gives the Sewell Dunton 8.5 model "Angler's Choice" fly rod with an extra tip, 3 sections a value of  $30, 95 and $195 for poor, good, excellent condition respectively. I doubt if you are going to get close to $100.

Your other rod is not graphite but is fiberglass (50s-70s), also not very collectible. Homel mentions one fiberglass South Bend fly rod, the 8.5 .#3386 model without an extra tip, in wood case c.1965, giving a value of  35, 65 and $125 for poor, good, excellent condition respectively.

The automatic fly reels never get over like $20. Yours is not in Antique %26 Collectible  Fishing Reels: Identification, Evaluation %26  Maintenance Homel, %26 Jellison. 1996.

quote these books written by researchers so you know I am not making it all up, But I include my experience as well.

It has taken me the best part of an hour to write this up , please take a few seconds to provide feedback. Please remember I am a volunteer , the feedback is the only result I get from doing this.

Luck,
Mac
