Vintage rod and reel
Question
I am trying to identify the approximate value of my D.A.M Quick 221 Model reel. It has the fish on one side and a red S on the other. I can't find anything about a 221 or what the S if for.
It is in very good shape but needs some lubricating as it hasn't been spun around in ages.
It's on a St. Croix 7' 2 piece rod. It says Carboloy tip top & guides 8065. It's cork handled and the St. Croix in on a gold foil type sticker.
Any info would be appreciated.
Thanks

Answer
Tim,
This is a good quality spinning reel that runs in the $15-30 range depending on condition. The 221 is the model number.
I am not sure about the S. The rod is a good quality spinning rod. I would estimate it at $50-$75.
But pricing right now is tough, the market is down on fishing tackle with the economy. If you placed these on ebay you might do better, or get less. People are selling not as much.
You can search on ORCA Fishing Reels, go to their reel talk section to learn more about the reel and the S.
