I am going to recommend a site dedicated to fishing reels - please search "ORCA Fishing Reels", then go to Reel talk.

I think you could mount these reels both directions. South Bend didn't make reels, but had them made by other companies mainly Shakespeare. I am not positive on your reel so I am recommending checking at ORCA.
