heddon pole
I have a pole signed Heddon and has the #10 on it.It is flat sided and has 5 sections.The thread is a dark maroon color.It is 8 1/2.The tag says Lyon %26 Coulson.IT HAS A SOFT CASE AND A METAL TUBE TO CARRY IT.I am interested in selling this.Thank you Marilyn

Lyon and Coulson sold Heddons but changed the model name.
You did not specify where the tag is located. If on the tube , it means little to nothing. Tubes and rods are easily mixed up, I've seen it allot.
It should be 3 pieces with an extra tip , totaling 4. I am wondering if the pieces even fit together.
Lyon and Coulson was a retail mail order tackle house located in Buffalo, NY. They sold a wide range of outdoor gear from the 1920抯 through the 1940抯. The main rod supplier to L%26C was Heddon. Unlike some other tackle houses, L%26C did little to change the appearance of the standard Heddon line except to give the rods their own model designations.
Antique %26 Collectable Fishing Rods: Identification %26 Value Guide Homel, Dan. 1997 (2nd edition 2000) ,add about 30% for age of book, gives the value for an 8 1/2 foot L%26C model "Captain" with an extra tip, 3 sections the value of $70, 145, and 285 for poor, good, excellent condition respectively.
A Heddon #10, at 8.5 feet is not mentioned by Homel but I would guess $53, 130, and 243 for poor, good, excellent condition respectively. I can confirm that Heddon used Maroon silk to wrap #10.
