Gear Ratio on Salt Water Reels

I have been Salt Water fishing since I was a kid and I am comfortable with what I have for gear BUT a friend of mine and his wife started fishing last summer and her arm got soar, as expected. Anyway, someone mentioned gear ratios and ever since she has had her teeth sunk in like a great white. Hear is my bottom line question. What real has the highest gear ratio? I am referring to a real such as a Penn 309 or a Penn Senator or Daiwa 320GTI.

My advice is that getting a higher speed reel might relieve some of the soreness(doubtful since you will still be cranking), but you have to think about how a higher speed reel will affect your fishing.  How will this faster cranking affect hook sets? How will it affect presentation?  But the reel with the highest retrieval rate per turn of the handle is the Penn 320GTI with a 4.3:1 ratio.  Both others have a 2.8:1 retrieval speed.
