Grandt custom rod
Question
I have an old fiberglass rod that is a Jim Grandt Custom. It is charcoal grey with burgundy wraps. It was a family members and I'm wondering what it is worth. I talked to Jim Grandt about it and he said it was an entry to mid-grade rod he made in the 70's. He said it is a Heddon rod blank. It is in mint condition with handwritten gold writing at the base of the rod reading: Custom by Jim Grandt 8'6" 6-7wt. IM3000 77174. Hope this helps and thanks for your time.
Answer
Hi Josh,
I would expect Mr. Grandt to know more about the rod and its value than anyone else. It won't appear in any of my reference materials or collector value lists.
Sounds like a nice rod, but not one that fits into my ability to evaluate it here.
Thanks, Joe
