More about Milwaukee winter fishing

Hello Marc,
few weeks ago I asked about brown trout, thank you very much for great advice on this species. Since that time I am a frequent guest both on allexperts.com and your fishing blog www.thelureofthefish.blogspot.com
Recently I moved from Chicago, and I am living in Cudahy, here I re-discovered fishing. I really love the fact that lake Michigan is such a great fishery, and I would like to fish this winter as much as possible. From your articles I know you are not a big fan of trolling, ice fishing etc. I figured that maybe you could write a specific article about fishing in Milwaukee inner harbor in the winter time. I went there the other day with my friend Arek, and we were looking for some fishing spots, unfortunately we only found 2 cars parked at the very end of E Erie St (behind Marcus Amphitheater) - guys were using spawn bags, and sitting in their cars, while fishing. That's not what we are looking for, we want action and active fishing.
Many of us would appreciate if you could prepare some info on how to shore fish inner harbor, jones island etc, in the winter.
The banks of inner harbor are so high, how do you fish there? how do you land a fish there?
One more thing, is there a specific place to buy some jigging spoons made by you?
Once again thank you for being an active winter angler, and if you feel that my questions are too much to answer online, maybe we could meet in person, and you could show us some of those winter secrets ;)

Hi Erick,

I've had a couple requests to write about the winter fishery so I will do a blog on it this weekend.

You will need a long handled net no matter where you fish along the lake.  About 10-11 feet of handle covers you almost anywhere.  You can purchase one, or add conduit, PVC, pool cleaning poles, etc, etc, etc, to an existing net.
