salmon fly rod
Question
Hi my dad left me a Milbro, fibrglass salmon fly rod. Never used or had a reel on. It has a cork handle, made in Scotland, 'Profast'F59/1-12ft.In bag and in as new condition, i know it is so years old, but i dont know how old. What do you think it might be worth? thankyou for your time. jen
Answer
Hi Jen,
I have no data on this rod. I did find that Milbro (Millard Brothers) is still an active company dealing mostly in air rifles these days. You may be able to contact them directly and gather some information on their vinatge rods.
I did also find a similar Milbro rod in an online auction with no bids and a reserve of 20 pounds. Not much help there, but you may find something else by looking at auctions.
The rods by Milbro appear to be quality rods and well thought of by anglers. A bit heavy by today's standards, but most vintage rods are. Likely 50-60 years old.
Sorry to be so little help.
Joe
