Baitcasting rods
Question
Hi,
I've Daiwa millionaire 4HM, Abu ambassadeur F.I.V.E and Curado E7, also I've 2 baitcasting rods 270m and 185m. Now I want to buy another rod for my extra reel. Could you please educate me which size is best and which rods are matching with my reels.
Answer
Hello, Im glad you sent me a question! Your three reels are great choices, remember you have to keep in mind you dont want unbalanced equipment, for example, you wouldn't want a shimano curado E7 paired up with a rod that can only handle 8lb test maximum, that would thow the balance off and your presentation. Depending on what type of species of fish your after, also the technique you will be using,That will dictate the type of rod reel combo you will have to use.Try to keep the lightest to heaviest line capacity of the reel balanced within the rods lightest to heaviest line weight, for example a curado E7's line capacity is 8 to 12 pound test{the rating on what a reel can handle is based on the diameter of monofilament, because you can spool up 20lb braid with 8lb diameter},and lets say you wanted a medium-heavy rod for that reel, the rod you would go with would be in the 6 to 17lb range to keep your combo balanced.Once again the length of the rod will also depend on species of fish and what type of technique you will need to use. If you need more detailed information, please contact me again with the type of fish your after, and the type of presentation you would like to use, remember balanced equipment and using the proper presentation for the conditions your facing, makes all the difference in the world,Here's some places that got some great fishing tackle you might be interested in; www.tacklewarehouse.com www.harrissportsmail.com www.basspro.com www.basstackledepot.com if you have anymore questions please contact me Thank You for your question Good Fishing!
