Answer
Bruce,
Books:
Bamboo Rod Restoration Handbook by Michael Sinclair
Classic %26 Antique Fly-Fishing Tackle: A Guide for Collectors %26 Anglers by A.J. Campbell
Fishing Tackle: A Collector's Guide Hardcover, 1991 Graham Turner
Swedish - no idea, not in my memory or books. If you spelled it Arjon Black Gnat, I suggest you search Google for it.
Wright McGill Favorite:
Goodwin Granger bought Wright McGill in 1939 ish.
I am assuming it is not a Granger Goodwin , Wright McGill, which is newer and less valuable . I would need pictures of the labels to be sure, because my book says a 9 footer is a Granger rod. I take that with a grain of salt as Homel, in my experience, is not inclusive.
Homel gives the Wright McGill, 8 1/2' model Favorite trout fly rod, with an extra tip, 3 sections the value of $90, 200 and 400 for poor, good, excellent condition respectively. ( foot rods are less valuable than shorter rods. While he gives the Goodwin Granger ,Wright McGill, 9' model Favorite trout fly , with an extra tip, 3 sections the value of $70, 165 and 310 for poor, good, excellent condition respectively.
I quote these books written by researchers so you know I am not making it all up, But I include my experience as well.
It has taken me the best part of an hour to write this up , please take a few seconds to provide feedback. Please remember I am a volunteer , the feedback is the only result I get from doing this.
Luck,
Mac
