NFT Bamboo Fly / Spin combo Rod

My Friend, purchased an long cylindrical container at a yard sale, and found a NFT Bamboo Fly / Spin combo rod inside. It is Octagonal in shape. How can we tell when it was made?

Hi Mark,

Nippon Fishing Tackle rods were very common post WWII through the 50's.  They were mass produced and don't carry much value but are great pieces of nostalgia.  

Joe Douglas on this site is the old rod expert so you should probably run this past him.  Add a picture if possible to help him identify it.
