Question
Reel Seat 1
Mac,
I have read with great interest your discussion (3/09) on the vintage Winchester 3 piece bamboo rod. I to had received such a rod from my father long ago. However, there is no stamped serial # on the reel seat or writing on the blank anywhere that I can see. There are three tips; one with 1" intermediate wrapping and two (of which one broken) that do not have intermediate wrapping. End eyelet on the one without wrapping has what appears to have a ceramic guide.
Anyway, without serial # etc. I trust it would be difficult to date and appraise other than in a general format. By the information I have gathered here and elsewhere, it is a gift I really should pobably hang on to.
I'll send a couple other pictures to see if it helps give you a clue as to what I am holding on to.
Thanks for any help you can give me....folks keep asking me what vintage it is and I really am not sure....just looking for help in answering the question so I don't give theme blank look and say "I'm not sure".
Time to go out and get some brookies for lunch.

I opened these questions in reverse order . I will answer both here.
Intermediate wraps are indications of older rods 30s or so. The ferrules style don't match either.
I don't get where Barney %26 Berry come into the discussion.
I made your message public so others can read it.
I am unsure what you have ?
Do you think it is a Winchester ?
Lets try the markings, writing , logos, and labels on the rod, if any ?
Total Length of rod?
Check metal for id and patents ?
What is the diameter (not circumference) of the rod above the handle?
Weight of rod in ounces?
Luck,
Mac
