Can you tel me some history on this rod? Maybe what the value is or where I could find such information?
Answer
Brain
Wright & McGill started making fishing tackle in the mid 1920s. They did not have a competitive fly rod product. Goodwin Granger was a high quality manufacturer of fly rods. After WW2 They purchased the Goodwin Granger company, picking up many of the employees in the process. They retained the Granger name with their rods for marketing purposes.
So your rod is from the late 40s early 50s.
I am going to recommend this site. you will need to post detailed photos to get a good assessment. Value will depend on completeness - are both tips present and undamaged (they should both be the same length), original bag and tube, condition of the rod itself.
