old flyreel and pole
Question
i have a fly rod and reel on the rod the only numbers it saids speedlock pat number 2102237 it is made of steel square tube and it has a cork handle on it.the reel on it is a flyreel it saids winona on it it also says winona lake ind there is another name on it but i cant make all of it out it says boy then there is 2 other letters then says mfg co.how old is this is it worth anything the reel is in every good cond. pole has 1 eye broke off

The fly reel was originally made by Boyer Mfg company, then later by Heddon.
The Boyer model runs $5 to $25 depending on condition, it worth more if you have the original box. Note: if the reel isn't near mint, value drops very fast.
The Heddon version runs $5-15, again more if you have the original box.
Sounds like you have the better Boyer model, these are from the 1920s.
Steel fly fishing rods have little value, $5. collectors are mainly interested in American Split bamboo fishing rods and some high quality fiberglass.
