kalamazoo reel

I am 13 years old and I love to fish every second of spare time that I have.  I have started trying to collect some old reels to display in my room.  I just bought a Kalamazoo Atlas 1708D reel.  Can you tell me anything about it?  Like when it was made or if it is worth anything.  Thanks for your help.  Dakota Rowell

On the right side of the webpage is a link for "Reel Talk" this is where you can ask questions, view other peoples information.

ORCA is a national organization worth joining...you will get information on local shows etc that you can attend.

Most of the bait casting reels you will find were made in high volume and generally run $5-15. Its the high cost low volume reels that generate value. I believe your reel is in this category. Its in the 1920 to 1940s range.
