Orvis Graphite Fly Rod for Salmon

Hi Joe, I just acquired at a Orvis Rod at yard sale. Trying to get a value on a vintage Orvis Graphite Fly Rod. Maybe 1970's-1980 ? You had a previous question in January of 2009.  I think I have the same rod from Orvis. 10 ft, graphite,salmon,3 piece, #9, 4 something.  I'm doing this from memory. It is mint with cloth wrapper and old metal case. I'm in California. Any info ?  Thanks, Tony

Hi Tony,

I don't have a lot of data on the graphite rods by Orvis.  Doing a little searching on their earlier models tends to indicate the rod should be worth something in the $150-$200 range, but that's a guess.

Sounds like you found a nice rod.
