I have this old fishing pole that I received from my step-father who said it was custom made by the same man who made them for John Wayne. Beneath the label (see subject line) is written RMT61M. The only other markings on the pole is a decal: Genuine Foul Proof made in USA Guides. It appears to be a salt water rod 92" long with six guides, wood handle with cork above reel. Do you have any information on its manufacture or value?

Hi David,

I didn't find much.  Pastor & Company was a rod building firm in California and they did build a variety of different fiberglass rods. They also used foulproof guides on the rods they built.

Yours sounds like a longer boat rod for saltwater use.  Value would be strictly a guess, but something in the $40-$75 range depending on actual condition would seem appropriate.
