Answer
Shandon, sounds good to me about fishing next week anytime except
Friday Oct. 15 as I must go to the doctor on that date.  Monday thru Thursday will be great.  Let me know when you get here.  My land line phone number is 229-861-2366.  My e-mail is [email protected]
I was gone on a fishing trip to Wisconsin until last week end and I may have missed your e-mail somehow.  I had a bunch of them when I got home.  Fishing up there is quite different than down here although some of the fish are the same.  They have both largemouth bass which are about the same as down here but they have smallmouth bass which we do not have here although in the northern part of the state of Georgia smallmouth are plentiful.  They have muskie and walleye and northern pike which we do not have.  We have a few pickerel close cousins to the pike and muskies.  I caught my last muskie three years ago.  I missed one last year and three this year but that is not unusual.  These are difficult fish to get.  I have done most of my fishing for largemouth bass over the past sixty some years.  They get much bigger down here than they do up north.  Actually the ones down here are a slightly different strain than those of the north.  The World record for largemouth is 22 lbs 4 ounces.  I don't know what that would be in Kg.  The biggest one I have caught was just a bit over 9 lbs.  I have caught a good many over 8 lbs.  Most, even here, are between 3 and six pounds.  I don't know how big they are in Africa.  When you get here I will show you where I have caught many of my biggest ones.  I keep hoping and trying for one over ten pounds.  Several of that size are caught out of this lake most years.  I think the lake record is something around 16-17 pounds.

I am looking forward to meeting you and welcoming you to our lake. If I were not so old I would like to try fishing in your country but being 77 years old and not the very best of health I doubt I will be fortunate enough to do that.  Meanwhile I welcome you to my country and state and lake.

Give me a call when you get here and I will meet you to plan what we are going to do.
