Question

Answer

The fishing reel is a high volume, low cost reel in its day. These reels are really common and sell between $5-10. The cork center is an add on to reduce the amount of line wound on the reel.
The rod is fairly common, they run $15 to $30.
Both are pre WWII items, most likely 30s to 40s.
