 I must say that I hate to answer a question with a question, but with something like this, I just can't help myself.  What do YOU think it takes to be a great volleyball player?  I say this simply because no one knows your ability level quite like you do.  No one knows what aspects of your game need more focus than others, to help yourself become as good as you can be.  That's what you should be asking yourself, "What can I do to better myself today?"  Think about it.  If there was a formula to become a great player, everybody would be doing it.  The very fact that only a handfull of players truly become "great", means that the rest of us......don't.  And that is completely fine, what does matter is that you are better today at the sport than you were yesterday, and that you have a plan to do the same thing tommorow.  Do you have the potential to become great?  Absolutely.  But I can't tell you how to get there.  Only you can.  At the end of the day, there's not a coach in the world that can convince someone to be great, that's something that the individul has to do.  

I realize this may not be what you're expecting to hear, but I do think that if you ask yourself this question, you'll get a lot farther than any response I could ever give you.
