positioning?
Question
I recently became captian of a co-rec team and have no clue about where everyone should start the game. There are 3 men and 3 women. Where should i put my best players in the rotation?
Answer
Brian,
I don't coach co-ed and I have never played it in an organized league but here is my suggestion.
MH1 is your best middle
MH is the other one
OH1 is your best Outside hitter
OH is the other one
S is your Setter
OPP is your Opposite or RSH
OPP MH OH1
OH MH1 S
You want your best MH and best OH next to the setter because at least one of them will be there every rotation when the setter is at the net. If you are playing a 6-2 you may want to have your three best hitters in every other position so you have at least one of them at the net on every rotation.
If you have two good OH figure out which the one can hit the best out of the back row and then make sure they are in the back row when your weakest front line is at the net.
Hope this helped and good luck.
Steve
