College student who wants to play college ball
Question
hi, i am an eighteen year old college student wanting to play volleyball her sophmore year of college, i wanted to play freshmen year but they sent me the wrong information by accident and i ending up missing the tryout, i still just really want to play and want to get ready for the tryout next year, i want to find some kind of high energy and very competitive team or league that i could play in, this is hard being a college student and not a senior in high school if you could help me in any way i would really appreciate it
Answer
Good evening!
Thank you for visiting www.allexperts.com!
Question: Was the coach at the college that you're attending interested in you coming to tryouts? Then how did you miss it? When you didn't show up in the first 30 minutes, why didn't she call you?
I have a few ideas.
a) Why not ask the coach of the college that you're attending about where/how to keep in volleyball shape? If she wants you on her team, I would think she would help you.
b) Ask other really strong vball players (who aren't on the college team) about finding some USAV women's team. If there isn't a USAV women's team at the school, maybe you guys can start one! I've never been involved in a USAV men's team, so I don't know what all is involved. But I'm sure there's some info on www.usavolleyball.org.
c) Stay in shape! Keep your weight under control. Keep lifting!
All this will be easier if the college coach knows you and wants you to be part of her team next fall.
If I can do anything else for you, please contact me. And please visit me sometime at www.coachhouser.com.
