Time Tracker? Maybe Libero Tracker!
Question
My grandson plays volleyball for middle school and would like to know what the definition of a Time tracker is. There is one player from each team that sits on either side of the score keeper. What do they do?
Answer
Good morning and thank you for visiting www.allexperts.com!
I think your grandson is mistaken. I've never heard of a time tracker. If that is indeed what's called, then no need to read further, b/c I have no idea what he's talking about.
But I think he's talking about a Libero tracker. That is a person who sits at the table and keeps track of who the Libero replaced, and who he should replace. It's important b/c w/o it, the Libero will carelessly go in and then be replaced by the wrong person, thus messing up future substitutions and replacements. An incorrect Libero replacement may even give the offending team an unfair advantage.
The Libero tracker uses a sheet that will be provided by the home team's coach. It's not a hard job, but the person must carefully watch the game. Often the kids have to be trained, but it's not hard.
If your grandson wants to know more about the Libero position, he can see the questions I've asked previously.
