Question
Copy of invoice
My daughter plays for an AAU volleyball team. We pay $2800 to this organization. They are set up as a 501(c)3 organization as well. Can they be set-up as both?
For the fundraiser, the flyer states they're a 501(c)3 non-profit and funds will go to purchasing equipment. We were billed an additional $100 to participate. We were told it was not an option--that all team members must pay. Is this legal?
Thank you

AnswerWelcome to www.allexperts.com.
But I'm sorry, I'm an expert on volleyball, not on tax law! You may want to ask another expert.
There are a lot of requirements that go in to being non profit and 503c companies. I know that a 503c has directors that you could ask your questions to. These types of organizations have bylaws and required minutes that are to be kept from each meeting. Basically its a lot of work for a tax write off.
I recommend that you ask a tax professional. That person may be the only one who could answer your question accurately.
