Male h.s. player, took a year off, too late to continue?
Question
QUESTION: Hi, my name is Nicolas from Long Island, New York. I am 16 yrs. old and 6'4''. I started playing varsity volleyball at my High School, which has won 2 city championships in the past 2 yrs, in my Freshman year. Originally I didn't really know much about the sport. I ended up trying out and the coach liked my height and he said he saw a lot of potential. So then winter came and I was encouraged to play club volleyball. i tried out and made one of the teams. About 2 days later I had to quit due to that my mom couldn't continue paying for club.
Since then I didn't play volleyball for my school in my sophomore year. Now I am going to enter my junior year and I am thinking about going back to it and taking it a lot more serious even though I've been playing tennis over the summer.
Do you think I can get to the point in which I can play pro even though im 16?
ANSWER: Hey Nicholas and welcome to www.allexperts.com!
Before I type a lot, do you mean pro beach? or pro 6's in Europe? South American?
Have a great weekend!

QUESTION: Sorry for the double post before. My internet was down. I mean pro beach.
Answer
Welcome back!
I have never hung out with any of the pro beach players, and have never had a friend who has played pro beach. But let's talk about this a moment.
I'm looking at www.avp.com right now. That's where I would start. Investigate the requirements of playing pro. Do you need to be a certain age? How do you qualify?
Of course you can still play pro beach. There are only 2 things that are stopping you: (a# your athleticism and #b) your desire to do it. If you lack either, then you will not be able to reach this dream of yours.
Taking a year or two or three off won't keep you from this dream, b/c I'm sure there is no age limit.
Let me know how it all goes! I'm excited that you have this dream. Go for it!!!
