balls
Question
We have a sixth grade volleyball team. We are wondering what the regulation size ball is? Do you use a volley light or regular ball? Thanks
Answer
Hello Tiffany and welcome to www.AllExperts.com
Here are my suggestions for volleyballs in game use.
1. There are no set volleyballs by level other than by design, structure(same number of panels only bulkier) and new balls coming out all the time that it would make it crazy for any team to pick from.
2. Mikasa, to me, has always had the best soft volleyball feel to them and very durable, believe me.
3. Use a nice practice ball that looks fairly clean as a game ball.
4. Hold the ball on top of and in front of your head, drop the ball to the floor. The ball should bounce up to your waist for the right amount of air. It does not matter the height of the person doing this.
5. Since most balls give you a range of air to put in, it is better to test the air by using my comment on #3 above.
6. Always use practice balls in game situations if your playing at home because your players will already be used to them.
7. There are no super balls only people who put too much air in the balls or have bad volleyball techniques that make them blame it on the ball.
Hopefully this helps
