QuestionTom,
I just read your article about not running the 6-2. I by no means am experienced like you. I have started practice a week ago with my 6th grade "competitive team". I have worked on a 3 person serve receive with the girls with a 6-2 offense. The difference is that I am having the setters start in positions 1 and 4, setters follow middles and hitters in 2 and 5.
I am not having the girls switch at all due to the fact that I want to give them experience in as many positions as possible. I have 2 quite athletic girls that I will have in the setter positions. I will keep them in there to keep things under control. I eventually want to work another girl or two into setting for a few sets in order to give them some experience at setting.
With not switching, are you alright with my plan. Also, my background is mainly 2 man sand so I need to find diagrams as far as base and situation positions for defense. Right now, I have the girls at the 20 foot area for the 3 person serve receive due to the girls serving being young. I would appreciate any diagrams or advice.
Btw, I have never been around a 4-2. Could you explain that to me?
Thanks,
Bill

I can now tell you more about what I said above. I have just looked at my bank of answered questions, and it indicates that I answered your follow up at 3:09pm on 9/14. It also indicates that my answer to you hasn't been read yet. Did you not receive it? If not, I can probably find a way to resend it.
