Would you look at my video, and tell me if I have college potential?
Question
Hi,
I would like you to see one of my highlight videos for a tournament I played in. I am a grade 10 male. The net is 7 foot 10. I would like to know anything I can improve in, and if I have a chance to play college ball.
Thanks

Answer
Good afternoon Richard:
I have looked at your video, but I've never coached boy's volleyball before.
I have sent the link to your video to Steve Benson. He has coached boy's vball at the collegitate level, and is now working with the Florida Region of USAV. I will forward his response. I think he'll want to know a few things:
a) What is your GPA? _____ Are you taking any AP or PreAP courses? ____ If so, how many? ____ How many have you taken in the past? _____
b) What is your class rank? (You're # ___ out of ____ students in the 10th grade at your school.)
c) What is your reach? _____ (In other words, doing your spike approach, how high can you reach? 9'? 9'6"?)
d) Do you play club vball? If so, what is your club's name? How many years? Who was your coach last year?
Hope to hear back from you soon!

OK, one more time! :)
I got this from Steve Benson.
"In the video all you showed was hitting, you need coaches to see your whole game to rate and evaluate your talent and skills. A highlight video is hard to rate a player as young as you. Uncut (one set) game video would give a much better picture of your skills. Serve and pass is THE game...boy's, girls, 13 year old JO players to Olympic level!"
I need to increase my arm speed!
