Question
#1---Is there any other 'Batted' "Dead Ball" rule besides a Foul or Out of Play or Hitting Backstop?
#2---I called an 'Infield Fly'...a coach insisted that it was a 'Dead Ball'? Thank You.

Answer
Hi Jack,
#1 If I understand your question off the top of my head I can think of hitting the ball a second time, a ground rule double, a batted ball hitting a runner off the base or in some circumstances on the base or an umpire.  These would all be dead ball situations. There's probably a few more I'm not thinking of at 6:30 in the morning.

#2 Infield fly is NOT a dead ball.  Batter is out, runner's can advance at their own risk.  We do not have time until all play has ceased.
