inside out swing

2016/7/15 17:59:24

Question
my daughter 14, seems to have an inside out swing. she always seems to hit the ball to the right side of the field and it very often has a lot of spin on it. help!

Answer
Make sure she makes a conscious effort to stride toward the pitcher, she may be extending the arms too early and sweeping the bat. She needs to work on hitting the ball in front of her by driving her hands to the ball. If she lets the ball get too deep into the hitting zone it will spin off the bat to the right. Have her try to keeping the front shoulder facing the pitcher, stride to the pitcher, then take the typical quick swing by driving her hands to the ball.
