Question
If the bases are loaded, then the batter-up hits the ball. The runner on third makes it to home, but, the runner from second to third is out before tagging third, does the run count, even if the girl coming home tags home before the out at third is made?
Next, are the in-fielders allowed to play all over the field, or, do they need to stay withing a "zone" around their positions? We had the opposing team's second base tagging outs from home to first, third base making out from first to third, etc. with the last game we played. Not only that, but, they would stand in front of the pitcher almost while the batter was up, making a "wall" so that our batters pretty much had no chance of getting the ball anywhere. They were more than half-way up the field, if that makes sense.
Thanks,
Sheely
Answer
1) No run scores if the 3 out is a force out (doesn't matter what base).
2) All defensive players except the catcher, who must be in her box, must be anywhere on fair grounds to put the ball in play. Players of the team in the field may be stationed anywhere on fair territory, except the catcher, who must be in the catcher's box, and the pitcher,
who must be in a legal pitching position at the start of each pitch.
