Question
Mr. Antley,
I would like to apply for a head coaching softball job, and I would like a sample letter of intent and resume. I've never wrote or seen a coaching resume or letter of intent. I look forward to hearing from you.
Sincerely,
Jeff De Groot
Answer
Well I never applied for a paid coaching job :) however I抣l try to help you.
I think a letter of intent basically explains in your words why you are interested in this particular program, what your plans are to improve the program, etc
Basically it a one page cover letter or mini essay that emphasizes the criteria and goals you have for the softball program.
Your resume should include your contact information, salary requirements, prior employment, related experience, education, certification, or other training.
It is a good idea to list your skills.
Example:
Strong skills for planning & running team practice sessions.
Identify prospects, generate written correspondence to recruits, maintain records and coordinate student/recruit's visits to campus. An understanding of NCAA rules compliance.
Experience in skill instruction, practice/game plan development of Softball - Fastpitch Softball, and administrative responsibilities.
Proven ability to instruct hitting & outfield play.
Excellent organization and communication skills.
Then you can back these up with letters of recommendations.
- Prev:Minimum Player Rule To Finish
- Next:Runner called out?
