pitchers wrist injury

Question
My daughter is 13 and playing for both her school team and her town travel team. She is in great health and physically fit. As our starting pitcher for both teams she pitched a 4 inning game on Monday and two 4 inning games on Tuesday. Her speed is approx. 42mph consistently. Now she is unable to grip the ball or bat and is in what appears to be a lot of wrist pain. I've suggested ice and rest but am curious if there are common wrist fatigue type injuries that pitchers experience and what, if anything, we can do to minimize the pain? If this is the wrong forum for this question any direction you can give us would be helpful.
Answer
Hi Cristine,
Sorry for the delay, I'm not getting my questions after the last upgrade, I have to check on them manually (I guess).
She is young and growing, overuse inflammation is most probable. You might want her to be examined by an orthopod who could rx some NSAIDS,pt, etc. RICE might also help, rest, ice, compression and elevation. My opinion is DO NOT use the affected area while it continues to be symptomatic, you might cause more problems.
