Runner Interference after player contact

2016/7/15 17:56:02

Question
Runner at first.  Hard ball hit up the middle.  Pitcher put a glove on it and deflected the ball into the runner going to 2nd.  2nd baseman was going for the ball heading towards 2nd - she has to change course (now the ball is heading towards first a little more) and everyone runs into each other (ball, runner, 2nd baseman).  What's the call?  The runner gets to 2nd without being tagged.  Ball was touched by the pitcher before the collision.

Answer
Hi Karla,

This is one I would have to see but based on your question we probably have nothing.

After a batted ball is touched by a defensive player and the runner could not avoid contact by rule we have nothing.  Then you put in the deflection of the ball by the runner and etc., etc.

My best quess without seeing it is play on.
