Games being called or postponed

Question
Hi Richard,
We play in a men's ASA league. Our game was stopped before the bottom of the 5th, due to lightning. The score was 6-5 visitors ahead and we were the home team. What is the ruling on the game? Do we continue at a latter date? or do we call the Game at the end of the 4th in which "we" the home team were ahead 5-4?
Thank you
John

Answer
Thanks for the question!

Note:  Your league may have a different rule about this but...

In ASA a ball game is not considered official (See ASA Rule 5 "The Game") until you have completed five full innings.  Since, in your case, you didn't complete five full innings, the game must be resumed in the exact place where play was suspended and the game must be finished.

I hope this answers your question, if not please followup!
